THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE PRODUCT

The MediPhysics Pain Treatment System (MPTS) represents the culmination of years of investigation into applying physics to solve healthcare problems. More than a decade of research and development was invested in the MPTS technology prior to the founding of MediPhysics.

The MPTS is a medical device that treats pain by emitting small, proprietary electromagnetic signals into painful tissue through two electrode probes that are held against the skin. The treatment is non-invasive, safe and painless. The MPTS has demonstrated the ability to reduce or eliminate pain in patients suffering from a wide variety of types of pain, including arthritis and back pain. A typical treatment is administered in a clinical setting under the direction of a physician and lasts approximately 20 minutes. Three to twelve treatments are generally required to achieve longer-term relief.

The MPTS has been the subject of a number of clinical studies and papers that evidence its effectiveness in treating a broad variety of painful conditions. Additionally, the MPTS is currently the subject of an ongoing clinical trial. Results to date have been very positive, with 85% of those completing the study experiencing significant, lasting pain relief one week after their final treatment.

In 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the MPTS for use in the treatment of chronic, acute and post-surgical pain.
